Weed Dreams

Are you gonna take me home tonight?

Ah down beside that red firelight

Are you gonna let it all hang out?

Fat bottomed girls

You make the rockin’ world go round.

The Vessel

Chapter 21

Let the dead speak or Deep in the Heart of Baradur.

***

The West Wind returns and with gentle accents

Makes the air pleasant and quickens one’s step

And, murmuring among the green branches

makes the meadow flowers dance to its lovely sound…

Halllooooo and how are we all? I’m hanging in there by the seat of my pants, but I’ll survive!

dunnoifi’mgonnamakeitanother5to8yearsbeforeretirementreally.

This month was a great reading month for me! Shall we begin? I got through C last month. This month, I got through I. Shall we?

Crispin Guest Medieval Mystery. The LAST Crispin Guest medieval Mystery.

Yes, I cried at the end. NEVER in my years of reading series has the series itself ended just like I wanted it to. Never. But this time, it did. Crispin solved his (maybe) last case and had his very happy ending. Everything tied up in a neat bow. Literally.

He’s a reformed pirate, being blackmailed by who knows who and mistaken for someone else. She’s a thief. both are shackled together by the ankle when this story gets going and… well, you can guess how it ends.

The first of 15. I read this years and years ago – okay, I read the first 6 years and years ago. Spawn was in middle school, that’s how long ago it was! Either way, Bren is the Human translator for the Atevi – the war-like people of the world his people sort of crash-landed on. The humans are handing over their technical knowledge a bit at a time, to keep the Atevi from slaying them all. It’s a delicate walk.

Some day, I will sit down and read all 54 of these in one sitting. Or over the summer. Not THIS year, however.

Sooo, we all know about the mighty Thor and his hammer, right? Well, according to this tale, Thor was a Viking, who settled in Norway , with his hammer, married, etc… etc… and SOMEONE is looking for him. OR his body.

Girl meets boy, Boy meets girl. She has just accepted her dream job, when boy decides to move back to the Hamptons with his mega-rich family and talks her into giving up the dream job and moving with him as his fiance.

See, for me, the minute she gave up the dream job. she deserved all the hurt she got when she moved with him to the Hamptons. His family – especially his mother – is WAY over the top and completely unbelievable.

A legend buried for 2000 years. A woman compelled to uncover the truth.

210 BCE, CHINA. The most powerful emperor China has ever known is on the brink of death. In desperation, he sends his most gifted alchemist and sorcerer on a quest for the mythical elixir of life.

His fleet never returned….

NOW, world-renowned archaeologist Georgia Lee is compelled to hunt for a mysterious man who may hold the secret to the greatest discovery in human history.

Her search takes her on a thrilling journey from an ancient tomb in China, through traditional Japan, to the blistering Australian outback, and the dizzying heights of verdant mountains in tropical Taiwan. But what begins as an investigation into an archaeological riddle turns into something very sinister. Georgia starts to suspect that perhaps she is the one being hunted instead….

This was a very good book and there was such a twist at the end! I’m currently 2/3rds of the way through the 2nd book – The Golden Khan.

And there you have it! Almost 7 books this month. Not too shabby in 28 days! How is YOUR reading going?
