AND retail therapy.
Yes, I succumbed to it! I spent over 4 hours at the laundrymat. I’ts been too long and I did 19 loads of laundry, which is really stupid. One of my favorite tunics is ruined. (I accidentally dripped hot scented wax on it and it didn’t come out. I should have used cheesecloth to iron it out, but that’s neither here or there.)
It’s Zulily and stuff tends to come back around, so I’ll keep an eye out. I received a LOT of compliments on it when I wore it.
Which comes to retail therapy. While folding and hanging up clothes, I realized that a few of my ‘staples’ are really worn. My nice white tee – which I wear under my flowey vests – is stained. Either way, I ended up with the printed jeans.
I can no longer wear blue jeans to work, but we’re getting away with other colors and prints. So with the pants in mind. and considering my most used shirt is becoming a work around the house shirt…
I can get away with the white tee with a lot of stuff, the blue swing in the middle will look great with the blue cheetah jeans and the brown swing tunic will look great with the oyster jeans and my leopard print leggings as well as my white jean and my white leggings.
So there.
Zee did SOME reading this month. Not a lot. Only 2 books.
There are 2 more books left in this series. I KNOW how I want it to end. If it will end the way I want it, I”ll be shocked. The series is winding down. Crispin is almost 40 – a very mature age for the time period. Jack is a man, married, with 2 children and a 3rd on the way. Life is comfortable for Crispin and his little family. Certainly NOT the wealth he grew up in, but still nevertheless, comfortable. They have more then they did when Jack first came into Cripsin’s life as an 8 year old pick pocket, the living space is nicer. Work is steady…And Jack’s wife cooks and keeps the place clean.
Someone drops a book in Crispin’s lap one evening – an old book… a book that is written on papyrus and bound and written in an unknown language. Everyone Crispin takes it to, ends up dead. A very nasty priest we’ve met before wants it, as do others. It’s written in Coptic and that’s all I’m going to say.
In the meantime, someone is impersonating Crispin and the Queen has died. Somewhere, Crispin and King Richard – who exiled him to begin with – have a most interesting conversation and a strange forgiveness takes place.
Oh. And his son. He has a son and that one is throwing all sorts of wrenches in Cripsin’s life. Not that Crispin DOESN”T want Christopher in his life, but he still loves the boy’s mother and she is married to a well-do-to mercer and he thinks the boy is his… and it’s really a better life for him than being the son of a disgraced knight.
I will be sad when this series ends. I’m convinced Crispin is a descendant of Sir Guy. Can’t convince me of anything else. I fall in love with him again every time I read a new entry into the series. I think when the entire thing is complete, I shall have a grand reread.
The 3rd and originally, final chapter in this series. Happily, the author decided 2 more books need to be written. I’m not a paranormal romance kind of person, but I DO love Jimmy Thomas and I will buy or obtain pretty much anything he’s on the cover of. SO I read the FIRST book for Jimmy Thomas and continued reading because the story was so good.
Grace is dying of a brain tumor. We’ve established everything in the past, so I won’t repeat it. She is no longer able to feed herself, isn’t mobile and talking is becoming difficult. The end is very near. Roman promised he would be there for her at the end, as he will be unable to resurrect her. Another vampire made sure he couldn’t.
In the meantime, another (female) vampire comes to watch over Grace until Roman can get there. She’s dating Grace’s brother in disguise and informs Grace that Roman is doing everything possible to find a cure or a way…
The last 3 chapters are a whirlwind, action packed adventure and as there are 2 more books after this now, I think we can safely say, we know that Roman was able to resurrect her. HOWEVER, there is a HUGE twist at the end. It was an OH WOW moment.
So that’s it for this month’s read and Hoping and praying that tunic comes back around.
Here. Have some Richard.
He’s obviously found the fountain of youth because he doesn’t age a bit!
