inAnd after this week, I need it!!!
Is it horrible I’m counting for long break to long break? I think most teachers do. 2 weeks and I have a 5 day weekend. 3 weeks later we have parent conferences, so half day. 3 weeks later and spring break 6 weeks after that, the end of school. Next year, we won’t have these 2 long breaks – fall break and winter break, but we’ll get out before Memorial Day.
Meh. I’d rather have the long breaks.
I was offered my contract yesterday. Already. Yas!
It is icky, rainy, cold. There is POLLEN in the water puddles, the stuff I’m allergic to, so I’ve upped the Vitamin C, the asthma inhaler hits and I STILL have sinus issues. Bleh! Kids are coughing, I know I’m in for it.
Soooo…. with my car being a pill (gets new sparkies on Tuesday and a tune up) we’re staying in. We’ll download The Stranger tonight, I’ll burn it and binge it over the weekend! Yes! Score one for the Zeepster!
William Edward is moving along – Hoping to have his story finished by the end of February. Then I can concentrate on Pirate Guy as Ghost Guy is already written. Pirate Guy will NOT be huge.
And now. GuyDay.
Have a good one.

inAnd it’s good news!!!
Not the transmission! Needs new sparkies and a tune up. With the diagnostic and the oil change – the tune of $500.00 buckies. I can cope with that. Means my tax return will be used for things OTHER than what I planned, but I won’t have to take a loan or go deeper in debt with a (newer) car.
Happy!

inTwo and a half years ago, my son rolled our only vehicle. He walked away, for that I’m glad, but it was a stressful time. Luckily for us, we found a used car for under $1000.00 in great shape and paid cash for it 4 days after the accident. I am grateful he was fine and we could replace the car quickly and inexpensively.
The Impala is in the process of probably giving up the ghost. In the last 6 months, we’ve replaced the water pump, the serpentine belt, the tie bars, the struts, 4 new(ish) tires. Previously, we’ve completely redone brakes, transmission pan… Yesterday, it began to sound like a diesel and it seems to want to go, starting in 2nd gear. It’s slow to respond and it thinks about accelerating. It does, but after it thinks about it.
I checked the transmission fluid and it was low, so I filled it to the point it should be at. It helped a little bit, but not a lot. Tomorrow, it goes to the mechanic. We’ll see what he says.
According to Google, the average replacement cost for a transmission is 1880.00. That’s not chump change. Thing is, I was hoping the car would last until summer and I could give it to Spawn and buy myself something newer. I’d hoped to get 2 more credit cards paid off and we could breathe.
That’s not going to happen. I weighing the option of just biting the bullet and car shopping this weekend or getting a small, short-term loan and replacing the transmission.
For 900.00, it’s been a great car and a great ride. It’s STILL a great ride. Just a costly one.
Sigh. As you’ve read a pointless blog entry, have some Richard. Isn’t he gorgeous?

inGood morning and how are we all? Are you excited? I’m excited! 100 days of school, 80 left (with kids) 2 weeks before my next looooooong weekend (5 days) and my resting blood sugar FINALLY came in under 200!!!! 192 this morning! I’m stoked!!!! Are you stoked? I don’t care! I am!!! NYAH!!!!
My deepest condolences go out to the family of Kobe Bryant. Wife and children lost husband, father, sister, daughter in one instant. I’m not a huge basketball fan, but I KNEW who Kobe was. They are in my prayers.
The muses have been tugging and I’ve been writing. Hope you’ll see the last few chapters of William Edward soon and very soon. He’s ready to be finished and the next reincarnation is already done and then we have PIRATE GUY!!! And somewhere, I have a the start of my regency Guy…. whose story might be as long or close to William Edward’s.
But I digress!
There ya go! Have a great day!!!

Yeah, you know what that means. It’s behind the cut, so it’s your fault if you go past.

inAnd aren’t you glad?
Yes, I’m a bit early, but for the time being, I’m going to have to be ‘good’ about NOT being on Social Media at any time while Captain PITA exorts all control. Hopefully, he’ll relax by the end of the year.
Had my first angry parental phone call today. Apparently, she took offense at my bathroom policy. (In short, you don’t ask. I’ll say no, unless you have a doctor’s excuse. I see them for 45 minutes, once a week, and if I let one go, they all have to go. My class ends up being one giant potty break.) Child is 9 and is just now getting around to telling mom and mom informed me she didn’t CARE about the other kids – if her daughter wanted to go to the bathroom, I was let her go.
I told her send a doctor’s excuse and i’d be happy to oblige.
She then went off about how I wasn’t listening and by that time, I wasn’t. Spoke to the teacher, as well as a few others who told me the woman was beyond petty. She went after an office staffer and threatened to call the board, and the staff said – hold on, I’ll put you through and transferred her.
I’m willing to bet she sends a note and I’m going to ignore it or send it back needing a doctor’s signature. People. Please. Even my kinders know better. She should.
EITHER WAY! Before I get started – LOOK AT THIS!!!!
Kill me now, can’t wait for The Stranger and WHEN IS CASTLEVANIA????
And now… highly anticipated Guy Day!
Guy Grins!
Have a good one!

inHappy Monday and how are we all? I have today off – Martin Luther King Jr’s bday. It’s a big celebration here in the south. My fellow teachers up north and out west don’t understand the connotations of the day, but here, he was very much beloved.
Today, I am eyeballing the dining room for serious work on. I’m also going to target my room. I spoke to my mom last night – apparently I left 2 of my bras at their house and we’re expecting my W2 from my previous employer to show up there. This year, I’m going to do something amazing and actually file the first few days of February! I need those funds. Either way, they said they would either mail them OR just bring them on down to us.
Means I need to clean house. My mom visually does the white glove test and I never pass.
After weeks of temps in the 70’s and 80;s (yes, it was 80 Friday!) we are getting THIS!
Yeah, that’s cold down here.It will be back in the upper 60’s come Friday, but for the most part, it’s supposed to be in the 50’s for the next 2 weeks. Means I MIGHT get to wear some of my winter wardrobe!
I am in the process of moving my photos and artwork to another host. Photobucket decided to charge for even miniscule services after being free for over a decade. I started taking things out of there a few months back – I started with the things I didn’t care so much about. My mistake. At the time they were claiming we would still have a limited free service, with ads and less space allotted. Liars. To add to the upheaval, they had a massive crash over a month ago and they SAY most people have their accounts back, but from what I”m seeing on their Facebook, that’s not the case. Many people who PAID to keep their accounts still can’t get in to them and they are demanding a usb with their things sent to them, plus a refund for their memberships that specify no ads. (one guy can get to the log in but it demands he undo his anti adware to go forward. Why should he disable it when he’s paying for no ads?) Either way, I can’t get in either and I’ll periodically keep trying, as I have artwork loaded there that I don’t have in other places, but in the meantime, I’ve found a new host and I’ll be exchanging this
for this
Oh, he’s nice to look at! This will take some time.
And someday, I’ll get my morning blood sugar below 200. Today, however, is NOT that day!
How about some Mancandy??? All Richard!
That’s all, folks!
