I hope we’re having a great week so far!

A fellow music teacher posted this. It’s pretty spot on.

Little bro did my bearings yesterday – said my tie bar and tensioner was fine, just needed new bearings. I could send the tie bar and tensioner BACK for a refund, but as everything under the car are original, I’m going to keep them for a rainy day – probably in a year…

Spawn had a lovely birthday – went Mexican and they decked him out

And I donated some hair…

Dinner tomorrow with 100 of my favorite relatives! Can’t wait!!!

I am thankful for so much this year – family, a new job, nicer kids and teachers and administration, friends, Flat Richie (who will be sent on his way to the next stop next week.) a car that is still running. Thank you Jesus. I saw this on Dear Abby this morning and thought it fit the bill.

Oh, Heavenly Father,

We thank Thee for food and remember the hungry.

We thank Thee for health and remember the sick.

We thank Thee for friends and remember the friendless.

We thank Thee for freedom and remember the enslaved.

May these remembrances stir us to service.

That Thy gifts to us may be used for others.

Amen.

We are going into the Interior tomorrow around noon. We will be there for 8 days. I’m hanging with the family, having Thursday Thanksgiving dinner with 100 of my relatives.  Flat Richie is going to that! Monday is Spawn’s 32nd bday. Tuesday, the family Chariot is getting new tie bars and bearings. And struts. Struts might wait until December because when they’re done, I HAVE to get a front end alignment and that’s an additional cost.

For the record, I’m still sick. I’m at work for several reasons – mainly unless I have a doctor’s excuse, I won’t get paid for being out the day before a long holiday. I don’t feel like driving into Savannah to do that. I have meds, I’m taking them. I’m taking my flonase and my mucinex and I have some hydrocon if necessary. I have my sick inhaler and I’ve doubled up on the regular inhaler as well as my vitamin C.

My blood sugar ISN”T showing it. It’s been in the low 200’s which is just amazeballs!

Either way, I have good hours and bad hours.

For the record, even though my kids are here, they think the holiday has already begun. guess how much is getting done?

NADA!

Just when I thought I’d turned the corner with this head cold.

Up all night. Hacking up both lungs. Nothing is helping.

Misery is my middle name.

Humbling

So, as you know, I’ve been whining and such because of Uncle Vanya, and I’m sick and I’m STILL sick, but things are getting better because now I can taste the nasty Mucinex knock off and we’re leaving for The Interior on Saturday to spend a week with the Parental Units and I need to badly because I’ve not seen them since late June. The Kitties know something is up because Lord Thunderbutt is avoiding me at all costs. ALL COSTS!

Either or…

I’ve been sick, my kids KNOW I’m sick because I have no voice and am relying much on recordings to teach. We’re learning Christmas music and I still have one more piece to buy.

ANYWAY –

Monday, I had NO voice at all. During dismissal, one of my sweetest 4th graders comes up behind me and grabs me around the waist. “You don’t feel well, do you Ms. Z?” 

Nope.

She then comes around and says – well, I prayed for you today and I’m going to pray for you again tonight and I’m going to tell my grandma to pray for you and for her to put you on all of her prayer lists. I’m not just saying that. I mean it. 

And that’s humbling that a child would care that much.

So I’m telling all of you – when I say I’ll pray for you, I mean it. I pray with the faith of a small child, which means, I believe it. From my mouth, to God’s ear.

Yesterday afternoon’s blood sugar reading 217. That’s pretty awesome for me these days. Lunch today is Turkey and dressing. Yummy! I have much to be thankful for! Happy Hump Day. Have some Richard.

Welcome to Monday and how all we all?

I am SICK! I’ve been fighting The Crud since the middle of last week. My doctor called something in for me over the phone and told me if I wasn’t better by Monday, he’d bring me in.

Well I have NO VOICE so that answers that!

I’m trying to fight it through Christmas. We have this week and then 3 weeks after the Thanksgiving holidays. I’m dying. And a whiney baby!

I can make it. Sure. Hmm mmm.

What makes it bad is I’ve given it to Spawn. Now Spawn will get over it pretty quickly. I can count on 4 fingers how many times he’s been sick. The only time he’s been REALLY sick was when he had the flu and we caught it pretty fast for him. So goes it.

Either or, I’m here at work, fighting through it because why?

BECAUSE CHRISTMAS!!!!!

See, I’m already seeing hate because of the Christmas stuff up and the radio stations playing Christmas Carols already. As for me, I have a Christmas program and carolers to get together in the next 4 weeks, so yas, WE’RE SINGING CHRISTMAS CAROLS AND YOU CAN GET OVER IT!

Nyah.
