inOver the weekend, my nose began to run, I started feeling run down, and this morning, I got up with a sore throat. I’m very unhappy about this. I have too much shit to do to get sick. I can’t get sick. i want to have left over sick days at the end of this year. Really. I’d love to make a pot of lemon honey ginger tea, get in bed with my kindle and eat and drink and recuperate. However…
Yup. Both are back at it.
This was brought to my attention last night. I think I might move to Iceland.
Isn’t that lovely?

inof my well needed and deserved break. Did you know when I return to school, we’ll only have THREE weeks before a 2 week break??? And then half the school year will be over!
I am looking for another position either within the county (probably not) or in another school system. I don’t want to pull up stakes and move until Spawn graduates, so I’m looking in a 5 county radius. Of course, if I stay here, I might be able to have the system help with my college tuition as I want an advanced degree. I went to a retirement seminar back in September, and I might be able to retire at 65, rather than 70 as I once thought. It will mean tightening my belt, working over the summer a few summers and socking the money. It might mean subbing until my Social Security kicks in three years later. Actually, I’ve pretty much decided to work until 65 and then making it a year by year decision until I’m 68, when I’ll draw my Social Security on top of my retirement. Alone, neither one will amount to a hill of beans, but together, with a well-maintained paid off vehicle and downsizing into a smaller and less expensive house, and Spawn independent, I should be okay.
Either way – Yesterday, on Day 1, Spawn and I attended the Video Game Convention down in town. I bought one of Spawn’s Christmas gifts – well 2. One is a joke (A Bob Ross Pez Dispenser) but I also got him a Mario Cart Monopoly. He LOVES Monopoly! He has 5 or 6 different versions of it and yes, we play. Our favorites are LOTR Monopoly with ring in play and Star Wars Monopoly. That one was really his favorite, but the pieces and such have been scattered over the years. I don’t know if we even have the complete set anymore. I remember the last couple of times we played it, we were short money, so we used regular Monopoly money. Colors and demoninations are the same. His birthday is a week from today and I’ve gotten him a Bob Ross Christmas ornament. I also want to pick him up a warm shirt or two between now and then.
Either way, the highlight of our time at the convention was this…
There were a dozen large screen televisions with Japanese versions of Ninetendo 64 games hooked up. Spawn has ALL of the Ninetendo systems, 2 play stations, 2 Sega Genesis and the xbox. The Sega Genesis and Xbox hook up to our Big Screen, but the ninetendos won’t. We have an older television I think we’re going to try this week to get set up, but he went ahead and bought a HD Ninetendo for his original Ninetendo games. Certain things WON”T play on the Big Screen however – Duck Hunt. Either way, everyone was wonderful to take turns and not hog a game. It was great to see geeky families having a wonderful geeky time together! Spawn was in heaven!
We bought this…
The HD system works well on his laptop – now to get him to hook it up to the Big Screen. He’s pulled out all of our old games. They’re going to need cleaned. Badly.
I did buy myself something.
Her hair is longer than she is, but I thought she was very cute. All in all it was a good day.
Today, no cleaning was done – I take that back. Kitchen. There was cleaning a little bit in the kitchen. We bought a Boston butt ham at church and now have enough left overs to last the rest of this week between the ham, the Italian soup and the Mandarin Orange Salad I made Friday. What ham is left, I’ll freeze in small containers and use it when I make pinto beans for a while. Spawn is not a fan of pinto beans, but if I put ham in it, he’ll eat it until the cows come home! Either way, it was a lazy lazy day at Zee’s place.
BTW Michelle, I bought the sheet set at Zulily’s for under 18.00 for sheets and 4 pillow cases.

The comforter I’ve had for 10 years. It’s Elizabeth Ashley??? And Spawn bought it for me for Mother’s Day.
I’ve been very good ignoring all the sale notices in my email. Of course, the fact my card is maxed out and I’ve paid all of my bills, taken out half of the rent and I’ve been to the grocery, I have a little over 100.00 for gas to last me a week from Friday. This would include driving home and back.
Tomorrow and Tuesday I MUST clean house, must at LEAST get the Christmas decs pulled into the house so if I don’t get the house decorated this week, I can do it when I come back. Hah. If nothing else, I’d like to get the trees set up. Also, must do laundry. Typically, I do it when I go home, but last Memorial Day my mom said something when I did 7 loads. Soooooo no. Laundry here. Tomorrow or Tuesday morning. We plan to leave for the Interior sometime Wednesday afternoon. So we might do laundry Wednesday morning. Spawn might stay all week next week as he has a cardiologist appointment December 3rd in Atlanta. Means I get to drive home and drive back up.
So that’s what I’ve done the last 2 days. I need to write the next chapter of Ribbons. Not really surprised at the lack of response. I have too many fics on my plate at this time. Last I counted – 7. Two of them people think I”ve abandoned. I just might finish them and post them whack whack whack. might. Maybe. THen again, the one is probably abandoned. I can’t hear the voices of my characters anymore. The two muses haven’t been seen in years. 😦 And on top of it, I have 2 ficlets to finish a cycle. 6 piece cycle and 4 of the pieces are complete. (That would be the His Mine and Ours series)
Just too much.
Here. Have some Richard.
Now go and have a fine week!

It is also the start of a 9 day break for me! Yay and kippe aye yay! My day was PRETTY dang good until my next to last class when a small student decided he was a big tough guy. Ended up getting his ass handed to him by 3 students, including 1 girl, by the time back up – in the form of 4 adults plus me – arrived in a few minutes. I’m rather praying his days in one of our classrooms is numbered. This is a daily occurrence. If he ever got his shit together, he’d make a damn fine attorney. He LOVES to debate!
A friend of mine is having a discussion on bullying on her blog (The M Files). I’d thought to join in when I got home, but there are already over 20 entrees and I’m rather tired to read through all of them. Maybe I”ll just read the opening volley and go from there. Personally, I’m exhausted. Way! Exhausted.
OH shit. There’s a pop up telling me WordPress is getting ready to launch a new editor. Joy. (That would be sarcasm.)
I’m thinking of NOT charging my phone for a week. Really.
Oh…. during my morning duty – which is outside my door – I play music. Soothing the savage beast and all that. (I would be the savage beast) I’d stumbled across some ‘electric classical guitar’ – and basically it’s a virtuoso heavy metal guitarist. I’ve heard of him before but I wasn’t aware he’d written a 1 hour 10 movement concerto. Pretty ambitious! Either way, I have the vid up on my overhead and have it cranked during morning.
While standing a bit out and chatting with another adult, I realized my room was filling up. Seems my little ones were LOVING it!!! I had to threaten them to get them to go to class. When my kinders came in later, they asked if I would play ‘The Vampire Guitar Player’ some more. They really liked it.
This is what I was showing and personally, I’d like to own his outfit. especially the boots!
I am going home for Thanksgiving. I need some family TLC.
And now, my favorite leather pants on any Guy….
Sir Guy isn’t having any of your shit.
And now, I’m crawling into bed with… a snoring kitty and my kindle. I”m exhausted.

inWhen the Ribbons Dance
Chapter 6
Winter Solstice was coming closer, and with it, snows and colder weather. The sun hid behind clouds that didn’t rain nor snow, just kept the countryside in a dark, deep, dreary funk. A fire kept the home warm and a well-thatched roof kept it dry, but Bronwyn found that Glenys was keeping herself more and more at Efa’s, Efa rarely came to her brother’s hearth, leaving Bronwyn to keep the home clean and to cook the meals. At best, Bronwyn was a barely passable housekeeper and while she appreciated free room and board and had no problem cleaning up after herself, she found herself succumbing to the most retched of diseases – cabin fever.

inIt’s been a craptastic day!
I’m almost done with this chapter of Ribbons and hope to post it tonight or tomorrow. I was going to post mancandy when I finished however my laptop decided to vomit (i tried a new dvd burner system – uhm… no. It downloaded a shitload of crap on my computer and when I tried to take it off, it dug in like an angry cat. The next thing I know, I have audio spam even when I’m not online , both chrome and firefox refused to open, nothing was opening to be honest… I was planning on doing a factory reset, but a friend reminded me to do a recovery first. So I did that. Backdated it to 5 days ago. I had to reinstall Chrome, but otherwise, we’re good.
Either way, it’s been a 4 hour ordeal, house wasn’t finished, chapter isn’t finished and I need a shower and am irritable. And tired. And I have a snoring kitty on my bed!!!! I’ll edit the picture in as soon as it arrives.

inmy clothes are turned around – the extreme light-weight tops and obvious summer clothes are packed and my winter sweaters and such are out and hung up.
My closet bar is sagging in the middle. Yup. The thick metal rod is definitely lower in the middle than on the ends where it’s anchored into the wall. I’m thinking there is at least an inch and a half to two inch difference.
It took me a while to get my clothes exchanged because of this –
Apparently, they are comfy.
For the record, the heavy purple one he’s laying on was hand crocheted and gifted to me by a very dear friend.
Oh and KITTY SLIPPERS!!!!
Dey iz de kute!
My room is done and the kitchen is almost done. Waiting for the dishwasher to finish so I can put them away and finish washing the few pots in the sink. Tomorrow, I will tackle the living room and dining room and Monday, I will reset my cave, now that I’m not longer in it, messing and gomming.
Spawn is treating us to Japanese tonight and then we’ll spend time at Starbucks, going places that set my internet provider off. What have you done this fine Saturday???
