inDon’t get excited, I’m talking about my sinuses. Geeez, I feel like crap warmed over.
I’ve become rather picky about the books I pick up as of late. Really. Weird, because typically if it says ‘free’ on it, I’m all over it.
But recently I’ve picked up some slash (ick) and there are certain genres which will typically NOT find their way to my To Read Anytime Soon list. So I’m passing them by.
Of course, this might be a good thing – my PC Kindle is the most unstable app on my computer. It crashes and freezes and drops all of my folders and it takes 2 hours to open up. Once opened, it takes up the vast majority of my running memory, which slows the system down. I need to update versions and drivers and as much as I hate it, I see me updating to Windows 10 in the near future. Not because I want to, but because the webs expect it.
We hates it, precious. We hates it.
Ah to have Windows 7 back. OH! To have Windows XP back!!! Why Windows? Why did you give us such shit to replace awesomeness???
Uhm…. for shits and giggles… apparently our darling is now posing for romance novel covers.
First, potato farmers and now this. I’m going to lose it.
I’m off to post a recipe at RABBBWW and then I’m going to the comfy chair with my kindle and my laptop. I might write. Chances are better I’ll nap. I have my inhaler, my nasal spray and I found a few weeks of singulair. I’ve already loaded it into my nighttime pill case.
Gads. Pill Cases. I’m getting old.

inI have NO voice this morning. none. Nose is running, that started last night. Feel really run down. It’s been an AWFUL last couple of days. Fire drill yesterday and several of my darling ones decided it was the WWE Bell for the Pee Wee division! I spent an hour on the phone with parents after work. And that’s how my day STARTED.
William Edward is up pretty much anywhere easy to find – DreamerFiction, Ao3, ffnet.
Gad, I do NOT feel good. At all. Here….
Okay I feel a LITTLE better. Still can’t talk.

inMy son emailed today and told me we lost a great. This is the first thing I remember hearing Aretha Franklin sing. Yes, she makes us feel like Natural Women and we’re all Chains of Fools, but when I think Aretha, I think this…
this is killing me.

inI went 39 days without buying clothes. Notice I said ‘went’. It’s a nice sale (3 tops and a pair of ankle pants) for 52.00. Can’t beat it. At some point, I’m going to have to say – I’m done. Really.
My wish list of shoes is disturbing.
I was bad yesterday. I had Coconut Chicken for lunch and BBQ pork for dinner. I’m back on the wagon – yogurt and applesauce and water. For some odd reason, my lunch bag smells of Apple Cider Vinegar. I think an applesauce container leaked and I’m smelling what’s leftover.
William Edward is up at DreamerFiction and Archive of our Own. It will go up tonight or tomorrow at FFnet and Tumblr. I doing the dreaded bi-monthly grocery shopping tonight. I’ll be late and I”ll be tired. Spawn is a huge help in that department. He really is. Someday, he’s going to make a lucky girl very happy and proud and I’m going to CRY!
170 days left. If you have to ask what I’m counting down, I will not be kind.
Have some Richard.
Thar ya go!

inIt is still Monday, so there will be some mancandy! Sorry I’m late, but my days are pretty full and I’ve been cleaning up William Edward’s current chapter. If you’re a member of Dreamerfiction, it is up there in all of its heinous glory. Otherwise, I’ll be loading at the normal places tomorrow evening.
🙂

inYes it is! It is GUY DAY!!!!! 173 days left until the end of the school year… 34 days since I bought anything. Clothes. Since I bought any clothes!!! Sheesh. Wanna see what I’m eyeballing???
The tops are the same, it’s just the back and I want it in orchid.
OH! This was free on Amazon today.
That should be interesting….
Today, one of my classes had a meltdown, and my blood sugar crashed massively. It took three carb tabs to get it back in still very low for me. Scary. Really.
Did receive SOME good news. One of the custodial staff, who thinks it is their personal job to make my life miserable – took a job at another school! YES! And I really like the custodian who is NOW doing my room. No more ‘you can’t have this because it’s a fire hazard’ bullshit.
So there has been a discussion of sorts at Guylty’s about Season 1 and Season 3 Guy’s hair. In short, while I DON’T like the current haircut –
in which he looks as if he just crawled out of bed and is out looking for coffee, I do prefer Sir Guy’s glorious nape curls. I love Season 3 Guy’s luscious locks as well, but those curls…
I hope you all have a great weekend!

inOkay so I’m a day late. Crucify me.
Actually, DON”T do that. It’s been a tough start for the year for various reasons, none of which I’m prepared to discuss at this moment. 176 days left.
Oh and 31 days since I bought any clothes!!!! I might have to rectify that on payday, but that’s another 9 days and I’ll maybe talk myself out of it by then.
Maybe.
If I DO buy anything, it must be with my own money (not the credit card) and there is a limit. So there. Everything I’m wearing today is new and the first time I’ve worn it. Do y’all feel extra prissy when you’re wearing new clothes? I do. I’m a frisky biscuit!
I need some quiet time to write. It’s burning. I really need some time to play piano because of reasons, so there….
So forgive me for being late. I was up until 11PM writing lesson plans for a month. I’m going to start scheduling writing specific grade levels each week. gone are the days I could write a week’s worth in like 30 minutes and be done. Now I have to write 35 of the suckers and load them at one time. This first one was the pits.
ManCandy? Ready? Are we in? I am!
Always save the best for last!

inAnd yet ANOTHER abysmal month of reading – and writing. I did get some writing done. I was hoping to get a lot of writing done this weekend, unfortunately due to a new (ridiculous) schedule, I have to 30-35 lesson plans turned in Monday. I’m hating the schedule, the art teacher is hating the schedule, my kids are hating the schedule, because 25% of them won’t get to have gym for 4 weeks. They aren’t happy. I’m not happy. It has rained every day so no recess. One grade decided they don’t like their time so they’ve up and decided they are going to come 20 minutes late and pick up 20 minutes late. Fine and Dandy but that’ my planning/lunch and NO I don’t consider 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there and 10 minutes over here, spread out all over hell and back to be ‘planning’.
That’s a potty break.
Not to mention, my back half of the day is overloaded with NO breaks whatsoever and I had a blood sugar meltdown between 2 classes. As I’m not the only one pissed off, I see a revolt coming Monday.
I hope. I bitch and whine anyway, so I’d rather someone else do it.
Either way – Zee reads. Sometimes. As I get my life back in a routine, I’m hoping my reading quata will improve. And once I get these lesson plans dealt with, I can FINISH WILLIAM EDWARD!!!! And I don’t mean just a chapter, I mean his saga. Damn, he’s been a whole fic on his own!
Sometimes, my computer crashes and the most insecure, unstable program I have, drops everything and I have to uninstall, reinstall and retweak it.
I am, of course, talking about my PC Kindle, which is my library. I don’t really read on it anymore, although right now, I will have to until I replace my Kindle Fire. But it is important as I have everything separated – complete with 144 subject folders and then the necessary – current read, challenge reads, to be read and been read folders.
Yes. I am the Founder and President of Anal-Are-Us.
Sometimes I manage to make it 3 and 4 months between crashes. Other times, I can crash a couple of times a week. I’m getting fed up.
Either way, over the years, I’ve managed to download about a dozen installments of a little series of pet fics called ‘AngelPaws’ – and I move them into the animal pet fic folder and go on.
However a few weeks, in dragging, I accidentally opened one and seeing how it was only 15 pages long, I went ahead and read it.
Cute. Very cute. Fetch is the saga of a puppy’s first day in her new home. She doesn’t understand the crate, there are strange smells in the backyard, the little boy keeps throwing the ball away and yelling ‘Fetch’ so she thinks that’s her name… but the most scary thing is the dark creature in the house watching her…
As of now, I have finished this series – well, until the next one comes out, which will be 6 weeks from now.
The The Gareth and Gwen series – as most of you know – was simply a replacement/placate to tide me over to the next Crispin Guest Medieval mystery. (the next one which is just out, but I will not give the author the time of day to purchase it the minute it hits the market. Truth be told, they’re over-priced for a frickin’ e-book and I’ll wait until a) the price comes down or b) I can obtain it through other means.
EITHER WAY – I appreciate how the author weaves her story around historical events.(coughcough) She does it very well. At this point of time in the series, the time is dealing with two major deaths – that of Prince Rhun, the heir to the Welsh throne – and Robert of Gloucester, half-brother to Empress Maud, and her most ardent support and general to retaking the English throne in addition to several other things, causing intense upheaval in both Wales and England. Owain, King of Gwynedd’s youngest brother is suspected to have a hand in the death of the heir – Rhun. He’s run off to England, specifically to King Stephen (he who would be fighting his cousin Empress Maud, for the throne) as well as taking refuge with his wife’s kin. That’s another problem. A lot of the Welsh nobility are married to relatives of their enemies and the Normans. It’s not an easy bed. Speaking of uneasy beds, Owain’s marriage to his cousin Cristina, is also on the rocks. She wants him to disinherit all of his children but hers. And at the bottom of it, Wales knows the minute the War of Succession in England is over, the Normans, who are all about conquer, conquer, conquer, will cast their eyes on Wales.
Welcome to 12th century British Isles History. Exciting, eh???
These two books deal with a) a mass poisoning at a celebration, b) the death of Robert of Gloucester. Gareth and Gwen are called to his castle by Henry, Empress Maud’s son, (who at some point will be Henry II) because he thinks Robert was murdered. Upon their arrival, people start dropping like flies, left and right. It’s not an exciting time to be there! There are lots of little side stories, such as Gareth and Gwen’s two adopted sons and their fear the boys will feel pushed aside with the birth of their own son as well as Prince Hywel’s feelings of inadequacy because he’s not the prince his brother was and to be truthful, Rhun was the favorite son of Owain.
If you’re confused, that’s okay. Family ties during this time period in this area of the world is quite the tangled web.
So far this year I’ve finished (or completely caught up to the most current of-)
The Lana Harvey Reaper series (complete)
Crispin Guest Medieval series (caught up)
Garth and Gwen Medieval mysteries (caught up)
The Iron Druid Chronicles (completed)
I am currently working on Joan Hess’s Maggody series. The ones I’ve read in the past have been fast reads, but as I said, this summer, I’m so exhausted when I go to bed, I don’t get a lot read. This must change. Really.
Tah! Have some Richard!

in178 days left!
Is it bad I’m already counting down to the end of the school year? Maybe I should make it simpler and count down to Thanksgiving or Christmas…. Spring Break. This is year 4, which ties for the longest I’ve been in a school. I have itchy feet. No bones about it. But I’ve had ‘itchy feet’ for 2 years now, soooo…
Hoping to finish William Edward’s chapter this week. Also need to take home work and write lesson plans for the month of August. Yeah. Whole month. But the key word there is ‘hope’…
28 DAYS! 28 Days since I’ve bought clothes. Killin’ me! I SERIOUSLY considered getting ANOTHER credit card from one of the OTHER companies (I can use my Roamans card for several of them. They all offer their own) but I seriously crunched the numbers and even if I DID limit it to 100.00 and paid it off before I did it again, I couldn’t do not. Not until I pay off my CareCredit for my dental work and that one is one I’m going to have to reuse a bit for the next 18 months. So no more credit cards. If I want THAT outfit THAT bad, I’m just going to have to do what I said and that is pay for it separately, using whatever sale is on that day.
And now, a LOT of Sir Guy. I need a lot of Sir Guy. I know you do too!
I find the Adam’s Apple bob to be amazingly sexy! And the eye-lashigage!
But I DO like you. I do! I do!
Now, I’ll be able to get through my day! Hope this helps your Friday as well!
