Happy Halloween!

And are we ready for the mass invasion of small goblins and princesses and ghosts and witches?

I’m rather disturbed by yet another large publication posting an article about ‘cultural appropriation’? Basically, if your little princess is white, she can’t dress up as Moana, because God forbid our daughters want to grow up to be strong, independent and intelligent.

So I suppose I should tell my princesses of color that they can’t be Snow White or Cinderella or Elsa or whoever they want to be? NEVER! Bite me!

And there we have my politically insensitive rant of the year. Trust me there are other things I could rant about. Believe me when I swear I chose the rant that would be least offensive.

For those who missed it, Nemo updated pretty much everywhere. Sometime tomorrow evening or Thursday, I’ll start posting my Nanowritmo. It’s another time travel but really working my historical research chops with this one. I’m aiming for 50K words. I’ve done 45K in 5 weeks so we’ll see… starting them and ending them are easy for me – it’s the middle that messes me up. Oh well, we’ll see.

I received VERY good news this morning. The moving team came through my room and informed me that as long as my things were in a BOX or the larger things – like the instruments and the cubbies – were openly labeled, they WILL move them. Initially we were told that we were limited to 2 boxes and everything else, we’d have to move. Needless to say, my garage is starting to fill up and now I don’t have to take anything else EXCEPT my record albums! SCORE!!!! I am most relieved.

And my day is over. Of course, just before I leave one of my coworkers complains of stuffiness and achy pains and wouldn’t you know it, by the time I got home, I was stuffed up and feeling meh meh meh. So I’m brewing hot tea and getting ready to get in to jammies.

And how was everyone’s weekend?

As per usual, mine was not long enough. I’m tired and my legs hurt. Muscle aches when they shouldn’t.

We had car problems on Friday. My car wouldn’t catch and turn over. The tow truck who came out said the fuel line came out and popped it back in.  Spawn took the vehicle to an auto repair shop this morning and they said it was fine, but lo, and behold, while there, the driver’s window wouldn’t go back up. And of course, it’s pouring rain, and it’s 300.00 to fix. I’m sort of done, y’know?  This car is going to penny and dime me to death, I can just see it.

Missing my Toyota every day.

In other news, I’ve uploaded the next chapter of Nemo at Dreamerfiction and will load it everywhere else tonight. It’s probably going to be the last thing I load until the end of the year. I have my big bang and Nanowritmo. And my Nanowritmo is going to be big. I think.

So there.

Temps have FINALLY cooled down – well for us! Highs in the mid to upper 70’s and Wednesday’s high – 68. I wish it would get COOLER because I have such cute fall clothes!

And I’ve just had my best class of the day and they weren’t good. It’s downhill from here. I’m thinking Sonic or something equally not good for me is up for lunch.

Either that or ye old lunch out of the vending machine. Bear Claws. Honey buns with icing. Oh yeah. Lunch of the Wicked!!!

I will say this…

For a group who are supposed to be our ‘moral compass’, Hollywood was disgustingly silent and turned a blind eye to Harvey for decades. They have no right to be anyone’s moral compass!

I think I’ll give up on song writing.

Anyway! Friends, Countrymen, Romans, lend me your ears. To all of my friends in Ireland and England and Scotland, please batten it down and stay safe. Extreme wind and rain is heading your way tomorrow and Tuesday.

 

If it’s outside and can blow away – even if you don’t THINK it can blow away, yes it can so bring them in! Park your cars somewhere safe, away from trees! Charge up all the batteries and cell phones and laptops and kindles and nooks. Have flashlights and candles ready, firewood and kerosene and make sure you go to the store and buy everything on the shelves!

Stock up on canned food and make sure you have a hand held can opener because that can opener that plugs into the wall won’t do you a lick of good if the power is out! Same with bottle openers! Trust me, I know these things!

Above all else… just stay safe, k?
