I am HOME. Our school nurse sent me home. My blood sugar has reached stupid level. As in so high I should be in the hospital, you are like asking for a stroke high level. SO I’ve been sent home with orders to quit the cokes, drink lots of water and eat NOTHING but protein.

My son is unhappy. He’s currently at the grocery with a list. We’re going to have South west White bean Turkey chili. oh forgot – need lunch. Eeep. Salad at Wendy’s. Do we HAVE a Wendy’s up… oh yeah, down close to the highway. Hmmmm. Trying to remember what kind of salads Mickey Dees…. oooooh. Subway. Hello!

My… friend…. I don’t know what to call him… former boyfriend, future boyfriend…. is way up in my shit over this. Really. He’s not angry or nasty, just… honey, you can NOT do this to you. You’ve taken care of everyone else for how long, it’s now time to take care of yourself. I need you to pester me. You need to be healthy so you can live a long time and pester me. And be with me and maybe we need to have the discussion of when I’m going to move that way sooner than later.

Basically the whole, I didn’t hunt for you after 35+ years for you to go have a stroke on me sort of thing.

So I am HOME and I’m currently drinking lots of water and if it would stop sprinkling, I’d go for a walk or something. Some thing ELSE that needs to be added to my routine.

Sigh.

Anyway, movie madness. For some odd reason, I forgot about Movie Madness last week, imagine that… might have something to do with that email that showed up in my email at work of all places on Tuesday morning.  Hmmm mmmm…

And now it’s time for Zee reads. I’d wait until tomorrow, but my sister is coming tomorrow and she and I and our chillins are touring a local college on Saturday. I’m going to be insane…

I’m in shock. I actually managed to read 6 books and I posted 3 or 4 segments of my fanfiction. That will PROBABLY slow down this month. I have company coming at the end of the month… and I’m currently working on my Big Bang.

First up….

Count me excited when this was announced. I don’t think it was as good as To Kill a Mockingbird, but it was pretty good. I’ll be honest, I grieved the characters that had passed before this book took place. Just lots of… changes.

Funny. Really funny. And it had an element I loved – the heroine was in her own words – ugly. And no where to we hear from anyone else, she was just not looking in the right mirror, she’s really beautiful. She’s not. Book is in First person, it’s a diary. And it is wonderful!

Admittedly I have a weak spot for action adventure centered about religious artifacts. Please don’t blaspheme. It didn’t. Satisfying, edge of your seat, romp!

Young adult rewrite of a beloved fairy tale. There are a series of these. I Might get around to reading the rest.

Ah my favorite – And again she does NOT disappoint. At all. Someday, she’ll run out of James Bond movie titles and then I don’t know what she’ll do – well I DO know what she’ll do. She’s spinning off – a series based on the those who work at Little Tag’s restaurant – Topped. And from these, we’re seeing the beginnings of another spin off.

This was is a bit…darker with the S/M element. Not just the D/s, but the pain slutting as well. Again, it is consensual and sane and between 2 adults, so I’m good with that. Not a corner I care to personally experience, but a satisfying romp.

Again, this is Lexi Blake’s earlier pen name. Interesting to see how she’s grown as a writer. Where as now, she is really focusing on the plot – and trust me, she has ALWAYS focused on the plot – this book starts out with the sex. Bang. Menage. The plot eventually shows up and it’s well written.

I’ve begun the 3rd book in this series – One to Keep. I already really like it and am seeing the hints of mention where obviously the Masters and Mercenaries series was a spin off from here.

I’ve started the Phryne whatsername series and I’ve obtained all 15 of the Mary O’Reilly series so far. I had 7 and read the first 3 last year… also discovered there are close to 50 of the Alex Archer series… I had like the first 25 and read the first 7 years ago. I guess I should just down and start over….

Look up Jane Finnis…. oh… I’m in trouble… doesn’t’ look like I’m going to get a reading summer… lol!

Beefcake

There will be no police beefcake tonight because I got a speeding ticket coming home.

Same stretch I got my last one back in 2008, for the same reason – I was stuck on a 2 lane for 40 miles behind an 18 wheeler who couldn’t get past 35 miles an hour in a 55 zone and when the 2 lane opened up, I went around him. Oh and I needed to pee really bad.

Was clocked by Georgia’s Finest doing 82 in a 55. That’s going to hurt. I’m bouncing like crazy because I NEED to go, there’s a gas station a mile ahead and the cop is like – I’m sorry, I’ll write as fast as I can so you can get to the bathroom.

After eating breakfast and lunch, I got a wild hair and got on my mom’s scale.

HOLY MOLEY!!!!! Even with that, I’ve lost 20 pounds since I moved in late July!!!!!

Mom thinks I’ll lose another 10 between now and the end of April…. due to reasons… 🙂

It’s been over my bed since I was 10. Even when I was married. Honest. To be honest, I don’t know what I see in it, but it’s comfortable.

Beefcake Sunday and other things

Other things being things I didn’t accomplish this week.

There was NO house cleaning this week. No room was cleaned, very few boxes were unpacked. Personal laundry WAS done – today, but none of the bagged linens were in that stash. I did unpack 2 boxes of books and one large box of Spawn’s clothing. He had a field day Friday night – he was squealing – I forgot about THIS shirt! He now has quite the closet full.

Somewhere in the mess, I have 2 boxes of clothes. My bathing suit is in one. So is my sexy lingerie that hasn’t been needed since 2008…it might be dry rotted and I see no use for it anyway. Oh well.

No pictures were hung, wait, my silly cat tapestry I’ve had since I was 10 that has gone over every bed I’ve owned and slept in since then was thumb-tacked up. Other than that. Nope. Nada.

I did find my stainless steel cutlery – 4 place settings. I figured what the heck – it’s better than plastic ware. At least I have my Corelle dishes and my nice dinnerware is in the buffet where it belongs.

Some of this stuff will go on top of the Yellow bookcase and in the living room. Eventually.

We did discover what happens when you put red white and blue sheets in a front loading washing machine and it goes on spin cycle.

The cats think they got a new toy.

The dining room table is still against the wall and while I initially planned to just buy a new dining room suite, I’m thinking it would be cheaper to just buy 3 or 4 chairs – and none of them matching or the same color.

There are still boxes on the dining room table. And Spawn’s tower is still in the living room.

My bed has not been made. It’s never made.

Don’t ask how long I went between showers. A certain man and I might have a contest to see who is the grimiest of them all.

I did not weave in the ends of the beanie I decided NOT to give to my brother. I don’t like it. I’ll weave them in and send it to Goodwill or the Salvation Army or the local churches thrift store.

No writing was done. Nope.

I DID get almost everything I’ve written transferred to the new Of Elves and Men Fanfiction Site. OEAM was my first archive. I’m rather beholding to them, even if most of the stuff is slash. I think at times, I one of the few hetters around.

I got very little done.

But! I climbed a lighthouse.

Back to school tomorrow. 7 more weeks. I have a long weekend next weekend – going home. And I think I’m going to take the Friday off the following weekend. My sister is coming down and it’s her birthday. I think I’ll take her somewhere swank and Italian for dinner in the historic district! She and her daughter are touring one of the colleges and we’re going to join her!

Somehow, I’m thinking it was hurt… I put it back in the water when the wave went out.

That first flight down is scary! Even with the central column (that isn’t there anywhere else lower.)

Today

I did something I’ve not done in years. 2002, to be exact.

I climbed a lighthouse.

I didn’t do it alone – Spawn was with me. I remembered to take a breather every level. There were 9 in this one.

However, I forgot how scary it is to come down the first 2 levels.

I’m getting old folks.

But after spending pretty much the entire week stuck at home waiting to get the car fixed, (it finally did get fixed Friday morning) he and I decided to screw everything and just go DO something today.

That would be a 3 inch crack in the radiator.

We were told it would rain. It did. Right up until we reached the State Park. And then there was not a cloud in the sky. When we left, it rained. So be it.

I saw something I’ve never seen ALIVE.

A sand dollar. And yes, it was alive. (When Spawn loads his pics, I’ll show you!) Yes, we released it back to the waters whence it came. When we were walking back, 2 ladies were holding a different one – they had no clue what it was.

Because when you’ve seen one, it was dead, and the little hairs bleached off, so it was white. And the little bones shook around.

The water was really cold.

But we had the best time. It was a good day.
