I am run down, tired, muscles hurt… sometimes that’s accompanied by a sore throat. I’m taking naps… NAPS PEOPLE! and my sleep cycle is way off. If my observation is today, I’m taking tomorrow off as a catch up on whatever it is I’m missing day.

Why do people get all het up on another’s eating habits?  Meat shaming. Please. Ice Cream Shaming??? What is the world coming to?

Honestly people, I don’t understand it. I’m not overly fond of veggies, those I will eat are far and few between, although I will admit sometime this week, I’m going to steam up some cabbage, onions and zucchini and dust it with Fisherman’s Wharf. IF a person likes meat, well good on ’em. We’re all gonna die anyway. I had a music teacher fellow forum member who was vegan, exercised, lived healthy, etc… dropped dead at age 48. Dead. No coughing, no hey my chest hurts, nada, just… plunk on the floor. Dead. THey don’t know what killed him. Can’t figure it out. It’s been over a year.

you’re gonna die when you’re gonna die. If I’m gonna die, I want a steak! And I’m NOT giving up my occasional Klondike Bar!

I went on a beefcake hunt this morning, to restock the pantry. I kept running into some wrestling dude with shears. Brutus Beefcake.

Twiddling my Thumbs

Waiting for Guylty’s weekly RA Round and realizing it might not come because she’s been traveling all week. How insensitive of me!

No, I’m not being sarcastic. I mean for real, how dare me?

EDIT: While I was composing this, the weekly update went up! WHOOOO!!! 

And I realize that I’ve not done pretty much squat of anything this week myself AND it’s the end of the month – well, almost the end of the month…. and things I’ve been saying I’m GOING to do and HAVEN”T done for ages…. like say PAINT THIS SHELF.. 

Really, I’ve reached a point to as I’m either going to PAINT it or just deal with the fact it’s an ugly shade of blue and start putting books on it!

My sister and her daughter are coming down for the last weekend end of March. Where she doesn’t make me anywhere nervous, unlike my parents, I would like to have the place cleaned up and completely settled. The Princess enters college next year and while she’s gotten LARGE scholarship offers from good schools out of state, her father is demanding she attend an in state school. There is a nice college about 30 minutes from me and she’s checking it out – mostly to appease him, I think. Spawn and I will join them, as he’s looking at them as well.

But I’m looking forward to their visit. Baby sis is my bestie.

But right now, I need to catch up on things. LOTS of things.

Well, I didn’t forget (please see previous entry) however after a full day at work (in which I try very hard to be good and NOT do personal roaming except before classes and during lunch) and then heading straight home, changing clothes, putting on some smell good stuff – no I’m not trying to impress anyone, I just smelled of Child – and then dinner and then heading to the coffee shop where no I didn’t see any hot fine male specimens that talk about subjects we’re both interested in, we got home fairly late.

And seeing how on Thursday night, I got home, ate and took a 7 hour nap at 6 PM…. well.. there ya go.

And yes I know today is Guy day and I missed this week’s installment of Movie Madness. I was in bed quite early last night (6 PM) and have a lot I’m trying to get done today and this weekend unpacking wise.

But there will be some Sir Guy later today and I’m sure I’ll get around to Movie Madness as well.

Either way… this came through my email about an hour ago and it might change the way we fan… I hope not. But it bears watching.

Legal battle over $1 million Star Trek fan film just got geeky

In short, CBS -who owns Star Trek – is suing several individuals over a fanfilm made. It could be dicey. What do any of you think? Will it affect our art, our youtube films, our – gasp – fanfiction???

Sooooo

I’m at Starbucks. Spawn and I come twice a week to download large items – as it seems we have a limit at the abode – and I like to go places where quite frankly, Internet Provider – ’tis none of your business that I go! I’m an adult, k?

Either way, there is a lovely specimen of manhood sitting at the table across from me. I’ve seen him before and I admit that I look for him now when we come. he has a beautiful welcoming smile and appears to be quite lovely.

No, I’ve not approached him. I’ve not accosted him. I’ve not propositioned him. I’m simply looking at… his biceps… and that lovely scruffy beard… his way cutie patootie profile.

He’s too frickin’ young for me, okay? Not to mention he’s gorgeous as hell and I’m fair, fat and over 50!

Sigh. 

But it’s okay to look.

In other news, Richard is deleting tweets again. Going by so fast, I can feel the breeze.

This weekend has gone by too quickly. And I’ve been damn lazy to boot! Planned to paint that big bookcase. It needs to be done. I’ve got a busy week planned… knitting on Tuesday – I’ve not been knitting in over a month. And Wednesday, Spawn and I are going to a local basketball game. Whooot.

But I’ve spent the weekend on my behind, with my feet propped up – ankles are coming back. Ah me. I should be able to walk tomorrow!

And writing. Hoping to have some Gary for you next weekend! Yippee!!!

After an incredibly trying week (incident that required stitches – not for me – and a mop and gloves, and an incident where a violent domestic dispute between 2 adults was graphically recounted to me in minute detail by an eye witness who was much much much too young to witness it.) it dawned on me that I had been waddling for 3 days. I took off my shoes last night after dinner (which I will discuss shortly) in which I discovered my ankles had taken off somewhere and I was left with none.

My son informed me when we got home, I was finding the ottoman and my feet were to stay up on it all weekend. We have serious leftovers and he’s quite capable of heating them and bringing them to me.

He also mentioned ‘more water less soft drinks’

Spoil sport!

I think I”m going to contact Kindle and return this fire. It refuses to go online at the house, meaning I can’t download books, the 32G card they suggested I purchase, is USELESS for books, which is what I really want to use it for. The videos and pictures I’ve taken won’t transfer to the chip and now I can’t go online at Starbucks because the 8G is full so my only alternative is to move them via hook up to my computer, except NONE of the computers in the house (3 of them) will acknowledge the kindle. Am most upset.

Spawn and I have fallen into an old habit, albeit a nice one. We cook Monday – Thursday, go out on Friday night, eat leftovers all weekend (leftovers are also his lunch) and enjoy Sunday dinner at a Chinese restaurant. Traditionally, we go somewhere we’ve not been EVER – or eventually, somewhere we’ve not been in a while, on Friday. Being in a new city and close to many other places, I see us eating somewhere new for a long time.  Last night, we went to Wild Wings Cafe and I got a small combo platter – wings in a lovely peanuty Thai sauce and boneless riblettes with a honey ginger bbq sauce. I’m in love. The place also appears to have a live band on Saturdays. Hmmmmm….

Seeing how we cant find a decent Chinese restaurant in this place (we’ve not ventured over the border yet) this little cafe might become a staple.

All of my muses – including Gary – have been clamoring for time in my head for some weeks. The next installment of The Shepherd is ready to go – was ready when I found the Lost Chapter of Roland FitzGisborne. I’ve laid out and am working on the next Nemo chapter. Gary is a slow, but thorough mover. I’ve also laid out the next chapter of William Edward’s saga. I’m hoping that due to the work and research I did for the last chapter, this chapter should write itself. Almost.

Please note: The things I mentioned in the first paragraph I am not treating lightly in anyway shape or form. Nor am I ignoring them or making light of such. It was a horrific week.

 

 

 

 

Harper Lee

According to news sources, and a lot of people I follow on my Word Blog, Harper Lee, the author of To Kill A Mockingbird has passed away.

Her 2nd book – To set a Watchman – has been on my to read list since it came out. I think tonight I’ll set to to be read next. I’m almost done with Silence of the Stones.

Black 2016 continues. Or perhaps it seems that way to me because those who are dying I revered from childhood and young adult. I’m getting older. So are my heros.

Movie Madness!

Ah, I’m a day late, but hey, better late than never. After the Tuesday from hell, Wednesday was a necessary needed break and today wasn’t as bad as it could have been. Thank you, Jesus. Tomorrow is Friday, say yippie kye yay! Planning a quiet weekend and some writing. Actually, I’m writing tonight. Gary is demanding some time.

Ah let’s see… what do we have on the movie list-  AH! Installment 14 – the baddest badass villain of them all…
