a disenfranchised Tropical Storm is making its way up the coast and no one told me.

It has rained bucket-loads for 24 hours, my stuff ain’t no better. I sound like a freaking mouse! I have official walk-throughs on Wednesday, testing to finish on Monday, I get paid Monday and I see I’ll be at a doctor’s on Tuesday… meaning I can’t take off work. yet.

You know, germy kids and a not healthy air classroom, that the custodians mopped down with bleach on Friday.

To make matters worse, I was feeling a LITTLE bit better today and decided to do laundry as I didn’t do it last week. I pulled my clothes out of the back corner, to find them soaked. Apparently, the motel’s commercial laundry room behind my room is leaking… and yes FUZZY STUFF was growing on my suitcase and my stuff was soaked. And it stank to high heaven.

I have been moved. I can’t win. I just can’t. I moved, by myself, in the flipping, pouring rain to the opposite side of the motel complex. rather than have 18 wheelers parked outside the room, I am now next to the steps, at the entrance of the courtyard, where EVERYONE is walking back and forth and talking and yelling. Yippy little dogs…. I can’t find my meds, my bra is wet. It’s draped over the air conditioner. Lovely, right? I’m sneezing, sniffling, coughing, and just plain ole crabby. My unhappiness knows no depth.

And I’m too sick to go do laundry now.

His Majesty is quite upset.

I am pissed as shit. She looked like a bedraggled mongrel.

It’s not even 7:30 and I’m ready for bed. Life sucks when you’re sick.

I have finished Roland’s cycle for Aside from Heaven. Waiting for its return from my gamma beta… hint hint Guylty… that be you…

And we’ll begin William Edward’s cycle. He’s a baaaaaaaaad man….

In the meantime, it IS the end of the month – so Zee Reads….

And again, it’s NOT been a stellar month for reading at all. It’s hard to concentrate on anything. My attention span has been nil. Really. And I bore easily.

Oh, the internet sucks here. Has for 2 days. Graphics (pictures pretty much anywhere) don’t want to come up. So book covers will be added later. (Covers are added now. Or they are showing up in the edit.)

Pride and Prejudice

#1 – Pride and Prejudice. Something I SHOULD have read some time ago, but haven’t. I’ve been woefully behind on my classical, education reading *eyeroll* Really. There are people I’d like to smack in this book, but I’ll refrain as they are … well… fictional. MR Darcy tho… hmmm mmmmm especially if he looks like you know who.

A Good Nanny

#2 – A Good Nanny. Uhm. No she isn’t. A short story that should have been left in someone’s head and NOT GIVEN AWAY FOR FREE ANYWHERE IN THE FREE WORLD. NO really. It sucked. Supposedly horror. Yes, it was, like 50 Shades of Shit should be really called horror. Someone please keep it out of Mr. B. Fuller’s hands. Thank you. Onward.

The Kadin

#3 – The Kadin. First novel of probably the first author I pretty much collected everything of. Bertrice Small. The wonderful adventures of Skye O’Malley. I swear the woman had more husbands than a woman should have. But this one had nothing to do with Skye. No. Bertrice liked marrying Western European women into harems. And them okay with it. I’m not okay with harems. I mean if YOU want to be part of a harem, kewl beanies, but I dont’ wish to be part of one. No. But to each his own. She was an awesome writer (she passed away some months back.) and I did enjoy her romances.

#4 – Adored – more Lexi Blake Goodness. Another novella that worked. I’m getting used to her introducing new characters every book, to tease us with. I admit I’m having problems with Master No – Tennessee Smith. He should have saw that one coming. Really. I’ll have it finished sometime next week. Even Lexi has said she had problems with Ten’s story.

and last but not least

A Bitter Chill

#5 – A Bitter Chill. I have 4 of these, I wonder if there are more. Again, very enjoyable mystery, just the names trip me up. Big time. Claudius, Stupendious, Markus, Victor. Auerlia, Septimus… Would be easy if they were named Moe, Curly and Bubba.  I Initially read this just to read it and realized after the fact that it DID fill one of my requisites. Of course, it was a Roman holiday being celebrated, but today, we call it Christmas.

I am down to 11 books to finish this challenge. I think next year, I’ll just challenge myself to read 50 books. That’s doable. Or 60. Or 70. There are series I want to go back to, but I need to finish this challenge first.
