Interesting stuff, Zee. I never thought about this issue (haha, mainly because I did not even know there was such a category as “Rubenesque”), but yeah, just another typical instance of the beauty ideal (inadvertantly?) making people feel bad about themselves. So off-putting…
Sadly, most ‘Rubenesque’ depictions in writing aren’t much better. 10 to 20 pounds. If I could get down to 20 pounds OVER my pre-pregnancy weight, I would be such a happy, happy camper. Right now, I’m struggling with the weight I took off last summer. Things are ‘rearranging’ and most things are smaller (butt and thighs – I’ve actually dropped another dress size in the lower quadrant, however other things haven’t changed a bit!)
All of this has come about in my search for more quality D/s… apparently all Doms are shifters, bikers, billionaires, run in packs – heh – and like the curvier woman. (Actually I know the later to be true. The smokey backroom I mentioned earlier I’ve been known to hang at have often mentioned that a woman with plenty of backside to smack in play is preferable.
