inIt looks as if we’re adventuring back down to the coast on Monday! Due to money woes (lack of it) looks like I’m going to attempt to make this a day trip.
Leave at 5 AM have adventure. Come back. No beach. Home by 6 PM.
Hey! Want to go on an adventure. Close to the beach.
no. No beach. No. You tried to drown me last time.
Not going to the beach. Day trip. Early rising.
I hate getting up in the morning before the crack of noon.
Me too. Sleeping in would be my superpower if it wasn’t for my arch-nemesis – Needing to pee! But it will just be the one shot. Down and back. I’m putting some audio books on CD… making up some new CDs…. no Elf music… can’t that early in the morning.
No Elf music?
Nope.
oooooooooooooooooookaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay…

inActually, this month should be What Zee is STILL trying to read. It has been an abysmal month for me reading and writing wise. I had hoped by appeasing the Muse, I would be allowed to pick up pieces and move on. The reader tugs for more Gary are almost painful. Adventuring has taken up a lot of my time and I’m looking at the new list of possible open doors – it gets bigger and bigger but the turn around is getting shorter and shorter. I have 15 that must be responded to complete with ‘t’s crossed and ‘i’s dotted by today and tomorrow. And my internet has been disgustingly unstable.
And I’m here doing this?
Add to the fact there are things I”d rather be reading… but I’ve already filled that particular space on the list. I’d RATHER read more Terri Reid, more cozy mysteries. There are things I know are on my sick external that I can’t seem to replace or gain access to.
I’d like to finish I bring the Fire. It’s on my PCKindle, which I rarely read on. But it’s one of those rare books I”ll have to go to Amazon to manage my kindle and transfer to my handheld. IT’s a pain in the ass. Same with the latest Lexi Blake. Needs to be hand moved. And I can’t find my kindle version of it. Only my nook version and my nook is – you got it – a PC Nook.
I’ve decide life is too short to read shitty books. Sadly, the shitty book I’m forcing myself through a few pages at a time will fill two unused slots – A book with bad reviews and a book you started but never finished. 50 guesses what that book is. I think next year, I’ll just read 50 books.
My too be read stack is getting bigger and bigger. This is depressing. Adventuring is depressing. But enough.
This month Zee Reads:
My favorite author – hopefully, you’ve figured that out by now. NOT one of my favorite in the series, although the Dom/hero is one of my favorite side characters – Jesse – and the heroine is one I’ve always suspected of being more than she seemed – mousy Phoebe. By 80% of the book done (meaning before the big shoot-em-up-kill-em-all scene)- I was just ready for Jesse and Phoebe to go have their Spankily ever after.
I’m noticing (have now for a month or two) that the more recent books have less and less smut and the introduction of the smut comes later and later. That’s fine with me – more plot. But I STILL rank the earliest books – The Dom who Loved me and A Dom is forever (Along with Dungeon Games) as my favorite. Lots of plot but waaaaaaaaaaaay more haawt sex.
Ah yes. Summer. It’s been so hot here in Georgia. Don’t let the weather man lie to you, our thermometer reads 3 digits in the shade. Went to the coast and it was wretched hot. Makes you move really slow. Dragging. Just like this book. Don’t get me wrong, book was well written and there’s lots going on, it just went on like a slow moving river. you know where you go out on raft and the raft floats but doesn’t move.
Remember when I was jumping up and down because All Romance books had 108 (now 111) pages of FREE books (and over 30 pages of Erotica)??? Guess what??? The VAST majority of them are one shots! I don’t think the two on this month’s list are long enough to count as novellas. PWP – plot? What plot? Woman goes to a gala, knowing her ex and his new squeeze are going to be there. She hires a hot escort to pose as the ex’s replacement. Heat ensues. NEXT!
Absolutely the nicest surprise I’ve read in a long time!!!! Cozy Mystery, by an author I’ve not heard of. There are 4 books so far, but it might be awhile before I get back to them. I’ve got them in the Challenge read folder anyway.
Mystery. Roman-occupied Great Britain. They speak today’s vernacular, so no Shakesperean over load of thees and thines and thous. easys to read and moves at a nice pace. The only thing that trips me up are the understandable use of Roman names. Quintus, Sarntellus, Septimarcus… why can’t they be named Marcus, John, Billy Bob????
This took PWP to a whole new level. Again, one of those lovely freebies at ARE. Normally, I’d download and keep moving, but the summary caught my eye.
I’d HOPED it would be full-length or at least a fleshed out novella. It wasn’t. 15 minutes. And it was well written smut – that’s what it was. Smut. I’ll look for her full length stuff. But the summary caught my eye and I really really really would have liked it to be more.
12th or 13th century. Don’t know where in Western Europe it takes place. COULD be England. Might be France. The knight/hero’s name is Guy. He’s a dark broody knight and he’s notoriously not a happy person. And he just married someone he thinks hates him.
But she doesn’t. She thinks he hates her…
You see why this ‘book’ appealed to me, for the entire 15 minutes.
I think it’s safe to say, I own ALL the books listed – except the one I get from the library!!!

in4. What is your favorite post?
You know, this was really hard. Even when I rant, I attempt to instill humor into the situation. I know no one really reads them, but I like the Zee Reads – keeps me grounded in my reading. (This month folks, I’m telling you is pretty abysmal.) And I’m probably boring y’all with that ponderous list anyway.
But as I was digging through things, I’ve realized that there is a little series that has brought some sunshine to a series of events that are really depressing me at this point. That would be Adventures with POP!Thorin. I really wish y’all could see him Shakin’ his Groove Thang on the dash when I pop the KC and the Sunshine band CD in…
You swore you would never tell!
Your check to reimburse me for your pay per views on that one trip bounced.
What? I can fix that now. I have white gems…
I NEED AMERICAN CURRENCY! My doctor won’t accept white gems. Only green-
I have emeralds…

And I’m not shaking my groooooove thing, what is my grooove thing, anyway, on your dash! You like to travel when it’s extremely hot and the dash has come close to melting the soles of my boots!
Sigh.

inThis makes me want to explain my own… or maybe I’ll just let this speak for me.
#findyourvoice
An open letter to Richard Armitage @RCArmitage and CybersmileFoundation @CybersmileHQ
So. Here I am, finding my voice. It is not something that is in my comfort zone. Being an only child and an introvert and a quiet person by nature, not sharing my inner voice with strangers is a way of life. As a librarian, I will gladly spend hours hunting down obscure points of historical reference, and will gladly shut my office door and hand over chocolate and boxes of tissues to teenage girls traumatized by Kili not getting his elf (Student: He died!” Me: “Now you are ready for George R. R. Martin), or students who have been kicked to the curb by their “families”. But speak to strangers? Whom I don’t entirely trust? About something I’ve never shared with anyone? Oh, brave new world.
Mr. Armitage, if you happen to read this, (and you probably won’t)…
